I made hummus for the first time for my Snack Smarter in 2018 event. I usually buy hummus from the store, but I wanted to see if I could make it myself. I do need to say that I didn’t really follow a specific recipe or measure ingredients precisely. If there is anything I learnt and observed from my baba is that you make things to your liking and your taste. That’s the joys of cooking. Making hummus was super easy and tasty!
Here is my recipe for Dill Hummus
Ingredients:
1 (15- ounce) can of chickpeas (rinsed and drained really well)
3 tbsp of olive oil (more if you need)
2 tbsp of tahini
3 cloves of roasted garlic
Juice from 1 medium lemon
1 tbsp of water
Salt and Pepper to taste
Dill to taste ( I LOVE dill!)
Directions
In your food processor, add the chickpeas, olive oil and lemon juice. Blend for a few minutes to get a smooth consistency. Add the tahini, garlic and water. Add salt, pepper and dill to taste. If your hummus is too thick just add some more oil, lemon juice or water.
Super simple and easy!
Hummus is a great dip to have with veggies, pita bread or healthy crackers.
